When I make a list of all my favorite venues, Greenhouse Two Rivers is always on there. This unique venue in Highlandville, Missouri was created by past wedding photographers. You can tell too! They really thought things through! And the best part? They keep adding on and improving it every year! No wonder it books out months in advance! I was so glad I would get to shoot there in December when Maddie and Jonathan reached out to me.
For a December day, we lucked out with “decently” mild weather. Maybe I should speak for myself though because the bride was wearing a gorgeous open back dress from Evermore Bridal. Her dress was a showstopper designed by Scout Bridal, and I think I heard about every guest in attendance compliment her on it! Maddie wore it well and looked like she stepped straight out of a magazine! Maddie completed the look with a sleek, low bun by @mercedesbellhair and makeup by Emily Edgar, who completely killed it!
Greenhouse Two Rivers is a great venue for year-round use. Even when it is cold out, there are so many spots indoors with great natural light! We used a lot of their white walls for a clean and minimal backdrop! Then we braved the cold and took some photographs in their stunning open field. Plenty of spots for photos at Greenhouse Two Rivers so that no two wedding galleries look the same.
Maddie + Jonathan wanted an elevated, classy look to their wedding photos but with some fun and edgy film vibes. Think a little Indy Blue-inspired. We used a lot of flash (even during the daytime, trust me, it’s cool)! I also used a small 35mm point and shoot camera along with shooting polaroids throughout the day!
After photographing weddings for the last 7 years, I’ve learned that I work best in environments where I just get to be the photographer. When I first started, a lot of times I got put in the position of being the day-of-coordinator and planner. I was more than happy to do that for my couples, but it took a lot out of me. I felt like I wasn’t at my most creative. So I was so thankful to have Jenna from Cue the Confetti Events. She was an ANGEL. So fun to be around, and she did everything anyone needed from her, with a smile on her face! She kept us all on track and made sure everything ran smoothly! I cannot recommend her enough.
A couple other vendors that played a huge part in the day were Lavish Grazing, Star Cakes Bakery, Otts Pasta, All That Music DJ, and Bliss Bridal and Event Rentals. Along with the incredible flowers from Fleur Floral Studio!
If you are looking to make your wedding photo dreams come true, look no further. I would love to work with you. What I love most is collaborating with my couples to truly understand their vision and then making it come to life. Tell me all about your ideas!
