hi, i'm taylor Jean!

I'm a sentimental son-of-a-gun with a big heart for everything I do and all the people around me. I love to make people feel seen, heard, and loved; and creating an atmosphere where everyone feels valued. The most important aspects of my life include serving and connecting to others like Jesus, making memories with family and friends, loving and learning about nature, & filling my life with adventures and beauty!

your biggest FAN  & Photographer for life!

HERE FOR THE WEDDING CAKE & HUGS FROM GRANDMA.

When it comes to your wedding day, I come as an upbeat, encouraging presence when you need it, as well as a calming presence when you're feeling anxious. It is super important to me to give you what you need in each moment. Giving you the best experience as a friend and photographer is TOP priority to me!

There are many people that I could list here, but I’ll reserve this for my best friend and the one I love doing life with– Max James. I tutored Max in geometry my freshman year (his sophomore year) and we have practically been inseparable since. He is hard-working, kind, selfless, patient, and everything you would hope to find in a life partner. Max owns his own construction business, so I love going to work with him because we get to hang out, and I also learn a lot from him. We are one of the rare couples that could work together everyday and *most likely* not kill each other in the process haha! Some of our favorite things include fishing, traveling in our van, hiking, home projects, chocolate chip cookies (lots of them), and Texas Roadhouse.

I love people. I love connection and showing people their unique qualities and making them feel beautiful in their own skin. Over the last 6 years, I have photographed some amazing people who have changed my life for the better in one way or another. I thoroughly enjoy getting to know each person or couple, hearing their story, and figuring out how I can photograph them in a way that will give them the best experience possible. I prioritize creating an experience over everything.

Any photographer can buy a nice camera and get some decent shots. But I want to do more than that. I want to give you a space to be vulnerable. Tell me your biggest dreams and desires and your crazy ideas and let’s bring them to life. I value you and show up completely myself to give you the same opportunity to open your hearts– all the way open to capture the true essence of you. Forget the cheesy poses and the expectations of what your photos “should” look like, and let’s create something you will cherish year after year. Any milestone, big or small, let’s capture it together because these moments in your life matter and deserve to be photographed.

My inspiration stems from genuine connection, landscapes of all kinds, natural light, human interaction, a big cheesy smile, Wes Anderson films, my parents’ photo albums, moody fog, backyard gatherings, imperfections, movement, old book stores, fresh air, cloudy skies, vulnerability, earth tones, grainy film, the 70’s, mountains, natural elements, a good love story, and so much more, inspiration is everywhere.

Max and I would have a slow morning with a big breakfast– I love me some breakfast with all the fixins; scrambled eggs, bacon, some type of fancy bread toasted on a cast iron skillet, a big bowl of fresh fruit for me, and if we are feeling extra, some breakfast potatoes. Then we’d probably take a walk on my family’s wooded acreage which is the most sacred place to me and where we got married! Maybe hammock there for a bit or take an afternoon nap which would be followed by a sunset fishing trip and a dinner picnic on Elk River. Then we’d come back home and spend the evening baking cookies and stargazing. Anything outdoors is my jam!

My philosophy in life is based on my favorite Bible verse, Ecclesiastes 3:12, and it basically tells us that the best thing we can do in life is “do good and be happy”! That has been my “motto” since junior year of high school. Besides that, I have a deep desire to leave a positive impact on people and do things in life that truly matter. Life is meant to be JOYFUL and celebrated!

My philosophy in photos is to create an atmosphere that is fun, relaxed, and inviting. Of course, I want to and WILL give you photos that look and feel like you, but I also want to turn your life into art and create images that reveal parts of yourself that you didn't even know existed.

After dropping out of college, I bought a Prius and hit the road! I was lucky enough to travel around most of the US! I always love any of the National Parks, but feel a particular draw towards Glacier National Park, Rocky Mountain, Yosemite, and the Grand Tetons. I am by far a mountain gal over the beach, but I also particularly love the PNW beaches, mountains, and basically everything about it. If you are looking for a session or elopement with me in one of these places, I would love to chat with you. Check out my travel page to see where I will be this year, and let’s link up!

A look into my life

I'm the type of person to jump right into quilting with no prior knowledge; the type to come to a screeching halt on a roadtrip just to ask a homeowner what kind of plant that is growing in their landscaping; the type who can't dance at all but thoroughly enjoys to dance her little heart out; the type who cries at elderly folks doing everyday things; the type who has a new hobby every season; the type who goes barefoot literally everywhere; the type who researches crunchy health things all day long; the type of person who can't go to sleep at night because of all the ideas racing through her head.

A lifetime learner and big lover of The outdoors.
