This editorial Three Pines Petersburg wedding was so sweet, whimsical, and so intentional. I was able to photograph it all on a mixture of 35mm film, 120mm medium format film, digital, and polaroid and the mixture of it all gave their gallery the perfect vintage touch!
Three Pines Venue is an old, victorian style mansion listed on Airbnb! Grace and Jack booked it for their wedding because it is a sort-of “middle ground” for their families traveling in from out of town. Not to mention the GORGEOUS details and unique touches around every corner! They ended up renting out the whole place so their family could stay with them the whole weekend. It was such a special touch, and the moment I arrived the morning of, everyone was sitting together at the big dinner table playing Uno! How about that for a fun way to start off your day!
When I tell you this was one of the most laid-back and intentional weddings I have ever photographed– I mean it. We had two whole hours for their couple’s portraits which is almost unheard of! The amazing vendor team and I made a quick coffee and bakery run at Talisman Coffee (delicious baked goods!) Then we scoped out downtown Petersburg for some fun couples portrait locations! We ended up deciding on this black building downtown and then an awesome corn field– which only Grace and Jack, who are effortlessly the coolest people I know, could pull off!
Once we got back to the venue, it was time to start getting-ready photos and details. Every nook and cranny of Three Pines is stunning! We used a lot of the rooms to get different looks throughout the day. Grace had her sister and mom help her get in her dress that she got from David’s Bridal, and seeing herself in the mirror for the first time was pure bliss! Then she read a letter from her groom that really set the emotion for the day.
Jack got ready with his mom who was completely overwhelmed with JOY! And Grace’s dad got to see her for the first time as she came down the grand staircase. Then they shared their first look and we got ready for their outdoor ceremony!
The best thing about an airbnb wedding is that no two weddings are alike. Even if they are at the same place, each couple gets to add their unique spin! At Three Pines, you could have an indoor ceremony and an outdoor reception, a completely indoor celebration, an outdoor ceremony in front of the house or out in the yard, and you could have a reception in the barn– which is what Grace and Jack did! It turned out awesome! Enough room for dancing and an amazing buffet. It helps when your groom is a chef! I might’ve eaten 4 of his cookies at the reception haha! We ended the night with dancing and a firework send off!
